The 3T3-Swiss albino cell line was established in 1962 from disaggregated Swiss mouse embryos. During growth, 3T3-Swiss albino cells exhibit contact inhibition, with a yield of 40,000 cells/cm² at confluence and a saturation density of approximately 50,000 cells/cm². Testing has shown that 3T3-Swiss albino cells are negative for limb deformity virus (mouse pox). These cells should be cultured in plastic flasks, as they may not grow well on glass surfaces.
